High touch surfaces (including washrooms and floors) will be sanitized frequently before and after classes (and sometimes during). In addition to regular cleaning and sanitizing, we have purchased a fogger with a safe and effective hospital grade disinfectant (Vital Oxide) which is food surface and skin safe, non-sensitizing and zero VOC.
Virtual class options remain, with post-class recording options, for those who aren't ready to come back into the studio. Attendance will be taken for virtual classes. No showing to a virtual class is still a no show!
In our first phase of re-opening (1-2 weeks), we are open for pole and aerial hoop semi-privates/privates. Some pre-scheduled semi-private classes and jams will be available to returning clients (capped at 3 for aerial hoop and 4 for pole). In order to operate effectively with higher operating costs, we have had to introduce temporary pricing (info in comments), which includes a special on our usual private and semi-private class rates.
Private bookings are available, both in person and virtually. If you would like to book a private at a time that works for you, but leave it open for 1 or 2 others to potentially join to make it a semi-private, we can do that!
Time slots are scheduled at least 15 minutes apart from one another to allow time for thorough sanitization, exiting and entering.
In our 2nd phase of re-opening, pole classes will move from semi-private to an actual class capped at 6.
Coming to FLY
It is absolutely necessary to pre-register, at least 24 hours in advance. Space is very limited and waitlists are expected. Cancellations are always possible so being on a waitlist could pan out.
Do not come to class if you are feeling under the weather, including, but not limited to flu or covid-like symptoms. If you need to cancel for this reason, please email, text, or leave a voicemail to ensure you are not charged any late cancel fees. If you DO cancel with the assumption that you have Covid symptoms, you will be asked to stay away from the studio for 14 days or until you have received a negative test result for Covid-19.
Please arrive to the studio ready to come in 5 minutes ahead of class. Wait outside of the studio and stay apart from each other if you are out of your vehicles! FLY Crew will indicate when you can enter the studio, one at a time.
Only those registered for classes or appointments will be allowed in the studio. Doors may be locked during class if the studio coordinator is away from the front.
Any juniors will have to be dropped off and promptly picked up. If you are not comfortable sending your child without accompanying them, you will have to refrain from returning during the initial phases.
New waivers will be required for every client.
Please arrive dressed and ready for class and leave any unnecessary items, including jewellery, at home. The water cooler is off limits for public use and we encourage you to bring a full water bottle. We will be able to get you water in a pinch, though!
While removing shoes, stand a minimum of 6 feet from the desk and state your name to confirm registration confirmation. You will be asked to give verbal confirmation that you have not experienced flu or covid like symptoms 24 hours prior to class. Wash or sanitize your hands and follow directions to the appropriate studio. Coming inside will feel a bit like airport security for now, sorry for that!
It is also necessary for you to leave the studio quickly when your class or booked time slot is finished. Leaving the studio after your class will be guided by FLY Crew.
While our class offerings are restricted and we are keeping everyone separate from each other due to the pandemic, it would be very helpful for you to pre-fill out forms if you are able. Even if you have previously filled out these forms, we are requiring updated paperwork from everyone. Thank you for your understanding!
Always maintain a 6-foot distance from one another throughout class. Please refrain from congregating, high-fiving, hugging, or otherwise touching anyone at the studio.
If you happen to touch your face, your phone or other personal items you will be required to wash your hands or use the in studio hand sanitizer. Also don't touch your face during class!
Wearing masks can help mitigate asymptomatic spread of the virus. You are welcome to wear masks in the studio, but for your safety we do NOT recommend masks during class. Wearing masks during physical exercise can be dangerous for individuals that have not trained to workout with oxygen deficiency. If you have any reason to believe that you could be an asymptomatic carrier of Covid-19, DO NOT COME TO CLASS and contact the HealthLine.
At this time we are opening up practice and classes for pole and aerial hoop. Hoops are not taped. These apparatus can easily be sanitized and disinfected between classes with rubbing alcohol.
Fabrics will be re-introduced gradually in our 2nd phase. Each fabric will be a single use for the day and they will be disinfected at the end of the day and swapped for fresh fabrics the following day. We will be both fogging fabrics then swapping them out the following day.
As we ease into things we will be considering assigned fabrics or rentals. If anyone is interested in purchasing or renting their own fabric (new or studio used) for jams or privates right away, please let us know for our planning purposes. Anyone who wishes to bring their own fabric will be required to consult with the owner to ensure your fabric is of the correct length and integrity. Amazon purchases for aerial equipment is NEVER recommended.
If you like to have a yoga mat for class you must bring your own. Yoga mats are not heavily used in pole or aerial classes. For those that wish, used studio mats could be rented or purchased while supplies last.
Any equipment you need will be set out for you. After class take your used equipment to the designated area for disinfection.
Instructors will teach from their own apparatus.
Crash mats will remain in use and will be sanitized after each use.
Safety in pole & aerial has always been, and remains the number 1 priority at FLY. We will be available for hands on assistance with PPE to maintain safety in class when necessary, but will rely on other teaching methods as much as possible. Please use a great deal of care to create a safe environment for yourself and don’t be afraid to ask questions.
As our class sizes are dramatically impacted by social distancing and sanitation procedures, we ask that you are extremely diligent about your registrations and attendance.
Cancellation Window: Students can cancel their class for any reason through ScheduleHouse, email, text or voicemail up to 12 hours ahead of class time without penalty.
Late Cancellation: If you are not feeling well, you will be granted the courtesy of not being charged for your class, however you will not be able to re-book until you can confirm you are clear. We ask that you make every attempt to provide as much notice as possible as waitlists are likely.
No Shows: Please just never "no show" for class. Much like your parents, we will worry that you are stuck in a ditch, severely injured.
Anyone starting a new activity or joining a new facility should complete a PAR-Q form.
The PAR-Q form and our waiver are here for you to preview or print and fill out in advance.
